The teachers at Springfield were similar to those around the country. Some inspired us to go on and do great things and others just sucked. Below are a few that stuck out in our minds, some for good reason and others too. We didn't notice it at the time but the guy teachers sure had a lot of facial hair. Maybe it was their way of hanging on to their teen years from the 60's.

Dr. Valinsky
Professor of philosophy that made complex ideas seem simple. Or was it the other way around ? Dr. V was not known for his sense of humor, so he did not enjoy having his sedan put up for sale in the classifieds by an anonymous student.

Phylis Carter
A guidance councillor that made you want to spill your guts. You might have walked into her office wanting to talk about university applications, but soon enough she had you telling her all your problems at home or with your boy friend.

Mr. Wilkinson
This math teacher spoke his own language and lived in his own world. He had his own unique way of doing just about everything. He was the "Cramer" of his era (minus the prat falls).
Lisa Fastow
She was the youngest member of the faculty and everyone thought she was hot (boys and girls) ! She was not the best teacher Springfield ever saw, but her pretty face and slim figure kept the guys captivated and the girls gossiping about her alleged relationship with someone on the football team.

Mr. Vasquez
Drama Teacher. Vasquez used to say "those that can - do; those that can't do- teach and those that can't teach, teach drama. A self deprecating, likeable man, he taught us more than he ever knew.

Mrs. Molivetto
Music Teacher - She was not exactly Dreifuss in Holland's Opus, but she tried to inspire a love of music in all of us. She devoted a lot of her personal time to the student body by helping out with the school play, choir, and visits to the orchestra.

Mr. Dino Vitelli
Taught English and Italian. This was a BIG man that probably could have taken on the entire Football team in a brawl, and won. He was ahead of his time with the goatee, but his clothes were from another era entirely.
Paul Williams
Paul Williams - Springfield's version of Tom Selleck. Paul taught English and History. He is the only member of the faculty to have attended Springfield himself.
Mrs. Gooden
Physics Teacher - She called most of us by our last names and was known to be a tough teacher. Those that made it through her class appreciated it in the long run.
Carol Richards
Chemistry Teacher - Everyone enjoyed this prof's enthusiasm for chemistry even if we could not appreciate the chemistry itself. Ms. Richards taught us more than just chemistry. Here she demonstrates the proper way to karate chop an oncoming attacker.

Carla Smolsky
She tried to teach English, but many caused her to pull her hair out as she appears to be doing in this photo. Some teachers just bring out the best in their students and some bring out the beast.
